Be an upstander!
If you See Something, Say Something.
Students can report their concerns via the Say Something reporting system – whether it’s a possible threat or they are worried about a friend’s safety.
All reports are taken seriously and are immediately reported to the appropriate SFPS personnel.

Commit to never bringing a gun to school and to never using guns to solve problems.
Since 1996, over 10 million youth nationwide have signed the Student Pledge Against Gun Violence. The Pledge encourages young people to abstain from contributing to gun violence, including bringing a gun to school.
The Pledge is available in older and younger versions, as well as English and Spanish.
Anyone can take the pledge, even teachers, parents, and community members!

KEEPING OUR STUDENTS SAFE BY PREVENTING GUN VIOLENCE
For many young people, concerns about gun violence are part of the world they navigate every day.
SFPS Gun Violence Prevention Week raises awareness, promotes early intervention, and highlights practical steps that help keep students safe and supported.
This campaign is anti-gun violence, not anti-gun, and recognizes the importance of outdoor and hunting traditions for many New Mexico families.
We are empowering students to shape a culture of safety in their schools by:
Taking the Student Pledge Against Gun Violence
Use Say Something to report safety concerns.
Reach out if you need help with a conflict, stress, or other challenges. Talk to a trusted adult, or call 988 or another helpline.
Thank you for supporting Gun Violence Prevention Week.

Get ready to read, log minutes, and celebrate the love of books—all while supporting our school! Throughout February, students will track the minutes they read (using our online platform or a paper log). Families are encouraged to read alongside their students so we can log as many minutes as possible together as a school community!
💙 How it works:
Students log their reading minutes all month long
Families & friends can sponsor students through a custom donation link
Every minute read helps support Gonzales PTA, funding school programs, our library, art supplies, and more!
🎉 Fun events to celebrate reading:
📖 Family Reading Night – Wednesday, Feb 25, 5:30–7:00 PM in the Gonzales Library
☕🍪 Cocoa & Cookies Reading Hour – Friday, Feb 27 (cozy up with a book and a treat!)
✍️ Classroom Author Visits – Week of Feb 23, published authors will visit our classrooms!
🏆 Prizes & Celebration:
Students who log their reading minutes will receive a participation prize at Family Reading Night as we celebrate their commitment to reading!
👉 Visit our Read-A--Thon platform to log minutes, create a donation page, and even sign up to volunteer.
(If you participated in the Fun Run, you already have an account!)
Let’s make February a month full of books, fun, and Lobo pride. Let’s read, Lobos! 📚🐺💙

Spring Pictures are coming up, and we can’t wait to see all those bright smiles! Families, get your students ready to shine because school spring pictures will be happening soon — and that’s not all…

As we begin the 2nd semester, we’d like to share an important update with our school community.
Students are no longer permitted to bring outside food or drinks into the school building. This includes items such as Starbucks, energy drinks, fast food, etc.
✅ What is still allowed:
Lunches and snacks prepared at home
Snacks or treats for special events coordinated with the teacher, such as birthday cupcakes, class parties, and other approved celebrations
Thank you so much for your continued support and partnership as we work together to create a positive and focused learning environment for our students. We truly appreciate our families! 💙
With the recent drop in temperatures, please make sure your students are coming to school with jackets, hoodies, or warm layers to stay comfortable throughout the day.
💙 If for any reason your family is unable to provide a jacket, please know we are more than happy to help. Don’t hesitate to reach out! Our goal is to make sure every student stays warm and cared for.
🧥 Missing a jacket, hoodie, or other clothing item?
Be sure to check out our Lost & Found bins, which are filling up quickly! You might just find what’s been missing.
Thank you for your continued support and for helping us keep our students warm this season! ❄️😊
Just a reminder that there will be NO SCHOOL this Monday, February 19th 📚❌
We’ll see everyone back the following day, refreshed and ready to go!
Wishing all our students, families, and staff a fun, relaxing 3-day weekend, enjoy the extra day! 😄✨
See you soon! 👋💙

We’re excited to share an amazing opportunity for our girls this spring , Girls on the Run! 🌟
Girls on the Run is a powerful program that helps girls build confidence, joy, and healthy habits that last a lifetime. Through fun, evidence-based lessons that combine movement, goal-setting, and teamwork, participants grow stronger inside and out 💪✨
Why it matters:
💙 Girls’ confidence can start to drop as early as age 9
🏃♀️ Physical activity often decreases around age 10
🤝 Many girls face bullying between ages 10–13
The Spring 2026 season begins the week of February 23, 2026, and it’s a great chance for our Lobos to run, grow, and shine together 🌈
